HELLO, Welcome to shapedbythesea.
I'm Mel, I'm 23 and from a tiny town in Northern Ireland, Donaghadee . I created my Instagram @shapedbythesea_ in April of 2020 during one of the many covid Lock down (thank G*D that's over).
Fast forward 3 years, (where did that time go) I really want to share more of what the life of a female sailor is like, uncensored, true and honest.
I fell in love with the sea at young age, going fishing with my family, sailing, rowing, going to the beach and learning to drive any and all kind of boats I could.
It brought me into the weird and wonderful world of the Yachting Industry! 5 years on and some things still surprise me (more of that later).
Yachting: the most expensive and outrageous way to see the world slowly!
It's also pretty amazing as well, it has taken me to some incredible remote places that I'll be sharing on this blog soon.
