That's a Wrap...

Updated: Oct 1, 2023

Morning Everyone,

Sitting on the train to the penultimate day of the Monaco Yacht Show, I started to reflect on what a fantastic season it has been.

Stromboli, Dubrovnik, Korcula, Split, Hvar, Rovinj, Venice, Naples, Portofino, Corsica, Sardinia and everything else in between.

My First season on board the stunning Baltic 145 has been nothing but exciting, no day is ever the same or boring. At the beginning of the season, I was thrown literally in at the deep end being new on board and stepping up into the mate role for a short period. The learning curve was steep but very rewarding to learn the boat quickly and once they returned I learned even more. I learnt early in my yachting career that every day is a learning and the day you think you've nothing left to learn you're in trouble.

I started shaped by the sea a month into the season on the 6th of July, this was the perfect escape into my thoughts of the places we had visited so far or the sailing we’d done that day. It's been a fantastic way to document my adventures so far, I cannot wait to be able to write about what adventures are to come, but for now, let's wrap up the 2023 Med season with the highlights...

Highlights of the Season

  1. Sailing into Venice, a bucket list

  2. Sail Gp Saint Tropez

  3. Baltic Rendesvous

  4. Seeing Stromboli up close

  5. The EXTREMELY competitive paddle boarding competition.

That's a wrap...

Thanks to everyone who has been reading shaped by the sea over the last few months I hope you all will continue to enjoy these blogs. If you have something you want to know about in yachting get in touch and I'll do my best to write about it.

Get in touch by subscribing to the site or via Instagram, Facebook or LinkedIn.

As always, keep smiling, laughing and loving the Sea xo

It’s been great reading about your adventures over the summer. And what a great looking yacht to have been working on. Love seeing the places you get to visit and enjoy on your off days. Keep sailing !
